1. Here's what I read:

He says to get rid of corporate income taxes but not personal income taxes.
  2. Do you really think we can cut 90% of govt?
  3. I misread Paul's position. So he wants to get rid of individual income tax but keep corporate tax and payroll tax. Is that right? Regardless, that's still $2.5 trillion of cuts or 65% of the federal budget. Can you get there?
  4. Well in an ideal situation he would like to get rid of them all. And will say that just to get discussion. But in reality he knows there is a transition period.

The end goal is reduce taxes reduce government.
  5. He mentions briefly in first video.

He's advocating doing something different because what we have now is no good. In fact is creates problems not solves them.
  6. ah, i didn't watch the video. Just read the article.

I'm as much for small government as most people, I just don't think there's anyway to get that small and I have never liked the idea of a consumption tax. I actually do like Schiff's idea of a flat tax and eliminating corporate taxes but right now we have to get the $1.6 under control.

I'm sure there's some metric as to how to judge an appropriate budget for the federal government as it compares to GDP but I don't know what it is. In any case, There's no way our country can run on less than a trillion dollars in spending a year.
  7. Sure it can and has been done:
