Uh, no. I saw this on another site about a quote he made on his program...

"Whomever is unlucky enough to draw OU in the Sugar Bowl, here's some advice. Do not look at Bob Stoops. Do not talk to Bob Stoops. Just let him hang his 50 on you and be thankful it wasn't 100."

To borrow a phrase from the WWE's Chris Jericho, Jim Rome is an "ass-clown", plain and simple.

Keep in mind, he was saying similar things AFTER they lost to K State as well.

    Can't find my Cowbell link.

Anyway... Jim was going on about golf and nascar and how they are sports and what not... well one of the emailers writes...

    Dear Rome.

How can you call golf an athletic sport when GROWN ass men are getting beat by a small 14 year old girl????

Jim Rome tried to counter, but said...

"Your right Jason from san Diego.. Next time Jason, don't call in so smart Jason from San Diego... 'How can you call golf an athletic sport when GROWN ass men are getting beat by a small 14 year old girl????' Great, SCREW YOU!!! Jason from San Diego... You know what? (rips up the paper) I never got that email... Jason who??? Up next..."

    Rome is such a homer

IF that guy hadn't been from "So-Cal" and had been from the real South than I guarantee that Rome wouldn't have said the guy was smart and was correct.

    I can't stand the man.

    Generally agreed.

He makes some funny comments at times and actually his social commentary is usually on the mark more often than his sports takes...

My favorite Rome comments were a few years back when Rob Johnnson & Doug Flutie were competing for the Bills QB spot.

Rome made an @SS of himself by ripping Flutie because RJ was his "buddy" and fellow So Cal USC surfer dude.

Where in the hell is Rob Johnson now?

Its too bad he's such a So Cal homer.

It really takes away from his game.
