He needs to sit his butt on the sidelines for a while and find out what everyone finds out in highschool. You don't play well, you get to watch the guys who do!

I think sight might be one of his problems, like Bowe. Lets see if there is anything done about it this offseason.

But it looks like Doucet, Toliver, and Byrd will be our top 3 WRs from now on. Im not complaining.

He's obviously talented given how he gets open so frequently, but either he has bad hands or he's in a mental funk. Reminds me a little of when a good shooter goes into a funk with free throws. I think he just needs somehow to build his confidence back up. Maybe against La Tech.

    In a word, yes.

As hard as it may be to watch, the only way to fix his problem is to keep throwing him the football. Either that, or put him on the shelf til next year. I don't see that happening.

It only take a little success to get you rconfidence back. Thats what this is all about.

He's lacking in confidence. He's in a slump and the oppenents the last 3 weeks haven't helped him. He hasn't has a cupcake game to get it back. He was forced into a very hard position with Doucet out having to fill some big shoes. I think it's a matter of trying too hard and his head is his worst enemy right now. He'll get it back. I still think without him in the lineup complimenting Byrd and Doucet our passing game suffers. even if he doesn't get a throw his way... he demands coverage leaving others open. I think he and Doucet have big games in Tuscaloosa.

Or a little more failure to be a complete Basket case,-and lose games.
We've got guys that are performing -they should be our go-to in clutch situations.Thats all.

Nice post. I know he's a head case now, but did anyone notice his blocking tonight? All around, this kid's offensive potential is amazing. I'll trust the coaches to make the decisions on playing time, but I do get anxious when a ball is thrown his way.

That's why it's imperative he's in the line up. He may be having some troubles right now... but if he's not in there our O struggles. I still think he's gonna explode against Bama. Whether it's opening up the passing game for the other recievers or blocking the 2ndary... he gives us a boost.

LaFell will bounce back with Doucet back in the lineup. Without Doucet, Lafell was forced to be the go-to guy and he wans't ready for it...yet. With some pressure off of him now I am almost certain that Lafell will bounce back.
And to help out we can put him on kickoff coverage a la Michael Clayton to get into the flow of the game. He's our most physical receiver and could develop into a Dwayne Bowe like guy. All great receivers go through stretches like this early in their careers.
