1. Re: Is LSU the only #1 program ever to have to worry its coach might go somewhere els

I can't see why Miles won't be on Michigan's radar, at the very least, when they begin their coaching search. Dude is 31-5 and is an excellent recruiter. Not sure what more you want out of a coach.

The bigger question to ask is whether Miles wants the Michigan job or is he at home with LSU?

Yes, and I don't think that answer is as clear cut as some may believe. I think he may have made some good friends down there. I honestly believe Saban when he says he thinks fondly about his time at LSU, and enjoyed that part of his life. And I don't think Miles is any different. :milesmic:

I think Miles would be on Michigan's radar but I dont think they will pay him which is why I dont think they will go after him. However, its pretty obvious what Miles thinks of Michigan. I dont think there is any question that he would take the job if the offer was right. Just look at these comments he made. The draw home would be too great for him

  4. Re: Is LSU the only #1 program ever to have to worry its coach might go somewhere els

    Please explain!

Some NFL teams were supposedly courting him. Florida wanted him, but Florida is not a more prestigious job than OU.

I don't consider LSU a stepping stone job. I wouldn't leave LSU for Michigan, but that's just me.

You just answered yourself. But rumors came up every year, and at this point, like Miles, they were just rumors.

With the success Tressell has had at OSU I suspect if UM is in a search mode this winter they'll at least be at the same level, if not exceed it. Tressell is making a tad over 2M a year.

UM has the money. Their Athletic Dept's profits in the 15m to 20m range each year.
