I do not want to condone any of this bad behavior, but I do not think things are as bad as they were. There was a time in college football when most of todays player behavior would never be known, at least to the general public.
Espoecially in the small college towns where the sheriff was a close personal friend of the coaches and AD's. I bet there are some incredible stories no one will ever hear.
i guess white started it afterall. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/football/ncaa/04/20/bc.fbc.georgiasuspensio.ap/ UGA players suspended for bar fight ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -- Georgia coach Mark Richt disciplined two football players Wednesday for their roles in a bar fight in which police used pepper spray to control the crowd. Linebacker Derrick White has been suspended for the Bulldogs' first two games this fall against Boise State and South Carolina. Defensive tackle Kedric Golston was suspended for the Boise State game. Richt said both seniors will also be subject to internal discipline and community service assignments. Richt indicated White's penalty was related not only to the incident on April 10 but also to other internal matters involving team guidelines. Police charged Golston, a starter, with simple battery of a police officer, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct. White, who is vying for a starting spot, was charged with disorderly conduct.
to answer your original question of the thread...YES the SEC is freaking out of hand this offseason. No one in the SEC should talk about another conference or school anytime soon. Thug U has become Thug U(S).
I will talk about UT and South Carolina as much as I can..... We are not up to their ridiculous level and it helps us with recruiting. When LSU has 5-6 arrests in a year then I will shut up
I meant outside of our conference. this has become a daily ritual with arrests in the SEC. Don't ever recall it being this bad.
