Anything can happen. Chances of going to a BCS bowl are still good. If AU does win out, then they would be in the NC game leaving us maybe for the Sugar Bowl if the SEC East rep sucks...which looks like it may happen. We would need to win out as well. BCS might like LSU in the Sugar Bowl over FL or GA.
Bama beating AU...yeah right. AU has to lose 2 because if we both have 1 loss it goes to head to head game winner. Bama will not be in West contention.
It aint over till its over. Was it over in 2001 when we lost 3 SEC games? Nope! And it aint over now. Cause when the going gets tough....... the tough get going. Now who's with me?
I love how people can be so negative, I don't care how good you think Auburn is, but upsets happen, and I can see it possible for them to lose to Georgia, Florida, or even at South Carolina. Nothing matters if LSU loses another SEC game though.
This is why we play the games, seasons can be unpredictable. You never know what can happen, an injury here or there not to mention Cox was on his game but even good QB's can have bad games. A missed extra point or field goal. Auburn has to play South Carolina, Florida, Arkansas, Georgia and Alabama. We know that anything can happen in rivalry games, SC game could be difficult with Spurrier as coach and the Florida game will be difficult as well. Anything can happen in these games. For the most part I think they will win it, we also have to win every game now but stranger things have happened on the football field.
The head to head tiebreaker doesn't work in this 3-way tie scenario. Each team has a head to head win. http://www.secsports.com/index.php?s=&change_well_id=2&url_article_id=46 THREE (OR MORE) TEAM TIE 1. (Once the tie has been reduced to two teams, go to the two-team tie-breaker format.) 2. Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams. 3. Record of the tied teams within the division. 4. Head-to-head competition vs. the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last. 5. Overall record vs. non-division teams. 6. Combined record vs. all common non-divisional teams. 7. Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division. 8. The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game, unless the second of the tied teams is ranked within five-or-fewer places of the highest ranked tied team. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the SEC Championship Game. TWO-TEAM TIE 1. Head-to-head competition between the two tied teams. 2. Records of the tied teams within the division. 3. Head-to-head competition vs. the team within the division with the best overall record (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last. 4. Overall record vs. all common non-divisional opponents. 5. Combined record vs. all common non-divisional teams. 6. Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division. 7. The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game.
Still, they did add another BCS games this season, effectively making it where all top 10 teams could play in BCS games. That's another 2 spots that they'll have to fill and if LSU wins out the rest of their games I could definately see a game of LSU vs. ND. Man would that be awesome. . .
How about this scenario: Both AU and LSU win out. Every other team loses at least one game. LSU climbs in the BCS standings week-by-week and vaults to number two on the last weekend. 13 - 0 AU meets 11-1 LSU in a rematch for the :crystal: That would be awesome! This time, though... decent refs. It could happen. Discuss amongst ya selves...
