1. Didn't Slip Watkins wear #1 or #2?
I'm thinking it was #2 but off hand I don't recall anyone else wearing that #?
Shrone is wearing #2 I believe now
  2. Slip Watkins did indeed wear #2...as did Jeff Wickersham's backup, Doug Powell. But the player who I think of most wearing #2 would be Eddie Kennison.
  3. Hey DDTigerfan...31 will always live on at LSU for Wally Pontiff.
  4. How about #22 for LeBrandon Toefield and Ally Broussard? I think this is the number Joe Labruzzo wore in the 60s as well.
  5. #4 gets the nod for me as it was Charles Alexander's number and I was about 10 when he was playing - so he was a football hero to me. I was always #4 in all sports til high school when I played on the Dline. Alexander was awesome at LSU.

Another one I remember (but really hazey) - was Bert Jones #7. The Ruston Rifle. But I never thought I had the arm to be a QB (and I did not), so I never fought to be #7.

It's great to see my younger son (9) and how he looks up to Matt Mauck. He is #18 in everything (except basketball). He's even a QB. Told me that he wanted to be just like Matt Mauck - wants to go to LSU, play QB a couple of years then go to med school (he does not want to be a dentist). I'm cool wit that!
  6. Caption: He's just the right height. He's even got a flat head to set my beer on, too!

  7. You left out a pretty good one that wore #12-Staubach
    #11-Danny White...I'm not even a Dallas fan!
    #7-Dan Pastorini
    #17-Jim Hart
    #13-Roman Gabriel
  8. ok take your pick.... #88 or #24
  9. #21, Dalton Hilliard. Damn, he was bad.
