He won't be playing, IMO. It has been pretty quiet concerning his status. I think they just want to make UF plan for him to play. MF needs to be 100%, but he won't be either. After playing him 2 straight games for 3 quarters, he hasn't been able to heal. I think it has made things worse. He has possibly lost some confidence because he has been throwing badly, hanging on to the ball too long, paying too much attention to the rush while in the pocket because of the ankle. I really think he should've sat out against Tulane.
Early Doucet will rotate in at quarterback?? You shouldn't post that... Florida may find out about this!!!
I would have to disagree with you in regards to Flynn. Considering the fact that he wasn't given much of a chance in the first half by the poor performance of the offensive line, playing against an inspired Tulane defense, he naturally looked bad. I do not think he did that bad as it seemed; I have to give him the credit of not shaken up despite being plummeled so much in the first half. He still got 279 yds passing, discounting the dropped passes by Lafell. At times he did seem to hang onto the ball a bit long; but you'll never know if he was waiting for the receiver to be open. I am glad that he played Sat. because he surely needed the valuable experience playing under adversity against a defense that is playing their butts off. His throws seemed to me to be better than at the Middle Tennessee game. He didn't seem to limp much in that game ; it is still very plausible that his ankle is still not 100 percent limiting his mobility. Hope he continues to heal. One real concern on my part is that it may be a rainy weekend again; we just have to wait and see. Wonder how that would change the game dynamics against a team like Florida.
I still think they should line up Flynn, Perrilloux and Trindon at the back field. Boy, will the defense be confused
Doucet running at 75% will not help the Tigers much and risks re-injury. The new guys, Tolliver and Byrd, seem to have the stuff and they must step up and cover for Doucet for another couple of weeks until he's close to 100%.
I also anticipate the playbook being pretty wide open this week, and I pretty much think that's been the design all along. RP will be MUCH more involved in the offense this week. Why would we give Meyer and company more game film than needed?
Take this for what it's worth. Just got the word that Doucet is going to try to play this week. He ran some yesterday and plans to practice this afternoon. Whether he can or not will probably be determined on how he felt after he ran yesterday.
