If Doucet's ready, put him back there and snap it to him.. he was a heck of a QB in highschool.

Based on the reports it does not sound very promising. Even if he does play I doubt he will be anywhere near normal.

with those 3 in the back, it doesn't really matter. trindon RB Direct, the other two have limitless options (including the Option). you could even do a triple option. DEF would be lost.

Maybe have Trindon squat down and take the snap (much like that hidden play against the chickens). Flynn can do like a punter and pretend the snap went over his head. Perilloux could lead the blocking.

Here's an interesting question---Is it worth playing Doucet when he's at 70%...if he's on the field and drawing coverage to him and away from others? U

Unlike with Matt Flynn, who when he is hobbled is a net negative to the offense, the "Doucet playing in spurts as a decoy" theory may be a net...positive?

Doucet doesn't touch the ball every play. If he is on the field, they have to cover him.

So for at least a play or two he will be a great decoy. However it won't take long for them to realize he can't run and cut if he is not all the way there.

Sounds like a no-go, to me. If he were going to be ready, he'd be ready now, and there wouldn't be any of this 'we'll see' business going on.

Let's just hope that LaFell is ok.

This reminds me of something I've long wondered about... how many times can a typical cornerback cover a wide receiver running a deep route before getting worn out? Because here's my crazy thought... get some speedy freshmen players (who otherwise wouldn't get to play very much), and put them as wide-outs early in the game, and just have them run deep routes every play. This should (in theory at least :)) wear out the starting cornerbacks. Then the first and second-string cornerbacks can run deep routes more effectively. Every so often, if one of these young guys actually are open, throw it to them to keep the cornerbacks honest.

Early will be a decoy for the most part. He may check in the game for a few plays, but at 70%, we are better with having someone else out there at 100%....like TERRANCE TOLIVER!
