Re: Saban mp3 Again I say, "Hey Nick, do you still get to Fuc* the reporter when you lose?" Who cares if it was a rumor about the ESPN reporter, because "that's how the story was told to me".
Having read all the posts on this thread, I'm relieved. While I know and understand that there are lots of Saban Haters in LA these days, I was hoping that his remark wasn't hugely insulting to anyone. Although some here seem to regard what he said as one more reason to dislike him, I don't see any posters who found what he said to be a major personal insult, in and of itself. I've lived in Alabama and rooted for Bama my entire life. I graduated from UA's law school, and take a lot of pride in most things to do with the university. That pride caused me to be concerned that a representative of our state and our school might have really screwed up and said something genuinely offensive to a different group. Not being from LA, I had no clue what the term "coonass" might refer to, and Coach Saban's use of the word scared me to death, at least until I did some research! FWIW, I cherish all things Southern. Except when y'all are playing Bama, I root for LSU bigtime. It did my heart good to see what you did to ND in the Sugar Bowl!
Nice first post! Feel your sincerity- stick around, rational Bama fans are a rare commodity here. :thumb:
I am surprised at this ESPN poll so far. Like myself and the consensus of this board it is not considered seriously offensive. However, only 500 votes from LA so far. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/fp/flashPollResultsState?sportIndex=ncf&pollId=42766
