Punters rarely get drafted. He's rated the #1 punter though despite an average year. But he's the future if he gets his head on right. He should be playing for a very long time.

Gonna be a whole new defense next year. We all may want to drop those expectations a tad.

With so many talented underclassmen on defense leaving early for the NFL, you wonder how our defense came up so short this season.

3 losses, UF complete offensive failure, Bama, should have never come to being put on the D, Mett was on fire and our staff decided to be pussies and not put Bama away with the O, Clemson, complete offensive failure leading to 100 plays for Clemson, I put none of these on our D, except the last drive by Bama, but I put that more on our coaching staff.

This is a huge group to declare, but I've felt for a couple of years now that this junior class is the best one in LSU's history--especially on defense.

That being said, I felt the defense underperformed a good deal this year, as well. I know our offense had major issues, but our defense did, too.

Some of these guys are going to get drafted based on past laurels.

Let em go and give me some kids that are hungry. Miles has kids ready to step in. Outside of an early departure at QB and the insane amount of injuries with our OLine this year, he always has.

Yeah, but according to Miles, it will be his best offense yet, so surely that will make up for what we lose on D, right?

That's true, but PART (not all) of the reason for this is because the offensive hardly ever picked them up or put them in positions to succeed. I don't have the stats readily available, but I have to think we were near the top of the 'most 3 and outs' by an offense for the year.

He was foolish to get publicly dismissed because the word got out quick that it was multiple drug offenses. It probably cost him a lot of money. Teams don't like to risk a lot of cash on players that might get themselves suspended at any time.

With the massive losses on defense to early entry and the continued struggles on the offense next year will be a struggle to have 0.500 record in the SEC. Losses Florida, Bama, A&M, UGA, and couple with one loss down the stretch against Ole Miss or Arkansas (always play poorly against these teams).
Florida - UF defense will be stout and our D will be decidedly worse and game early
A&M - D will most likely get torched by Manziel
UGA and Bama on the road with capable QBs. LSU on the other hand QB is inconsistent.
7-5 a real possibility next year.
Bama and A&M with their favorable schedules will fight for the west
