1. I think our only problem next year will be at CB, the LBs look good, they may actually be better. If DB comes back I know we'll not have any problems. We have the talent a CB but not the experience, the safety and DL will be solid as always.

The offense could be the best we have ever had!

What idiot wouldn't resign their coach after the seasons he has had. I don't look for him to leave.

I may be wrong on this but I think if BP wanted a head coaching job he would have already taken one. I think GC will stick around for several years also.
  2. Does Myles have written into his contract to be one of the top paid coaches if he wins a NC, like Saban? I thought he did. If we win a NC, the pay cut to go to Michigan would be quite astounding.
  3. I don't see the quandry. We keep Les Miles if we can. I think next year will be a rebuilding year, in the sense that I do not think we'll be legitimate NC contenders, but that doesn't mean Les is doing a poor job. It just means this is a senior-laden team that will be losing quite a lot. I still think we'll be the odds-on favorite for the SEC West, which means we'd have a legit shot at the conference title. We'll just be losing a lot of talent on defense, mainly.
  4. The bright side is that we have many athletically gifted younger guys that are learning the right techniques, to be able to step right in. And they are practicing against our wide-outs, which can only help in their development. I remember too many seasons in the last 25 years, where our cornerbacks always seemed a step or two behind other teams recievers. And where the safeties were anything but.
  5. I agree.

Isn't there enough to concern ourselves with now, such as a schedule full of strong opponents? If at the end of the season Miles is a hot commodity, that will mean our season has been a success, which will mean the coach / school relationship has been mutually beneficial. Miles, Pelini, and co are grown men and will have to make grown decisions that we will have to accept. LSU will be fine.
  6. Are you kidding? Seriously, are you kidding me? You have to be. I'm dumbfounded by this comment.

I'll echo the sentiment about our offense next year. RP is undoubtedly the real deal. It seems like it's been so long since we've signed him, and with all the other distractions surrounding him (running his mouth, getting into trouble), I've almost forgotten how awesome he was supposed to be. But Jesus, that guy can PLAY. I definitely think that a healthy Flynn is the man this year. But I feel very comfortable with RP taking the reigns in '08.

  7. I'll stick to the football part of the thread.

I think RP is the real deal. No question he has the skills and I think by next year will be a well rounded QB. I think our offense will probably be better next year than this year.

That said, our defense loses a lot of key people like Dorsey, Tyson Jackson (if he comes out), Craig Stelz, Ali Highsmith, Jonathon Zenon, Chevis Jackson, and Kirston Pittman.

I realize we have key and talented back ups but many have not been tested.
