I know that, Slick. I'm making a simple observation that Les knew who he was trying to fool . . . and he fooled that guy.
actually not Jasper caught the bounce on the fly, as if he had caught the ball in the air Gators snuffed it out completely and we somehow got a first down Credit to Jasper and Clement.
Something my father in law noticed during the Bama game that's closely related: he saw their fake FG coming from a mile away and called it. I didn't know how he was so sure they were about to fake it. He said they are absolutely about to fake it. They did. He was right. I asked him how he knew with such certainty. It was simple: McElroy had his helmet on during the FG try and was standing on the sideline paying attention to the play. He said if the QB has just come out of the game after failing to convert a 3rd down, he typically talks with coaches and is either in a huddle with backup QB and coaches, sitting on the bench, or on the phone and not usually standing up on the sideline with his helmet on watching the attempt as if he's prepared to run back into the game immediately. I'd never though of this but he was right. In this case I'm not sure the offense even knew the fake was on. Helton said he didn't know until Jasper came onto the field and told him the fake was on. Was JJ or JL watching with his helmet on standing on the sideline? It wasn't as pretty as my favorite all time FG fake but it got the job done. This was my desktop wallpaper for almost a year:
it went for 5 FIVE, 5. no matter how hard you try to turn it into a negative, it didn't happen. look at the box score, go read the play by play. it went for FIVE yards. not barely 2. not 4 F I V E
