BT, You are a quality poster, glad to see you back. I will respectfully disagree with your rule. I've watched the tape on youtube a bunch and Peterson jumps in front of Jones, and Peterson's left shoulder is pushing Jones right are toward the sideline. No way Julio gets a hand on the ball prior to Peterson, and Peterson never bobbled the ball an iota. Once it hit his hand, he possessed the ball. It looks like a clean interception to me, and to most of the rest of the western free world, outside of Alabama.
The problem with the Gumps theory is that Jones never touched the ball, its clear that Peterson had possession in bounds.
