I like the fact that we get an off week before the Bama game and also the season starts earlier for us. Who does Bama play the week before LSU? I remember how impatient I was for the start of the season last year and it seemed like a lifetime wait after the SC vs. Miss St. game on Thursday to our game on Saturday.

Not to mention that you can now actually do something for Labor Day weekend. I can't remember the last time I was able to do something on Saturday.

I still don't like the move, out of principle. ESPN should not be dictating to the SEC about its schedule. This opens the door for forcing home LSU Saturday games to other nights with this precedence established of LSU willing to move its games. That said, Mississippi State is not cannon fodder compared to MTSU in preparation for Virginia Tech the next week.

LSU informed ESPN that the possibility of moving LSU home games is out of the question. LSU would have to close school for half the week and it would not be possible to accomodate media, etc.. We wont have to worry about that option.:thumb:

LSU officials have already stated that LSU home games will never be on a Thrursday night. So i'm guessing any other night would be the same. Except for the Arkansas game of course.

We need to untrack a new offense and win the first game and be ready for VT. I'd rather be playing at home against Middle Tennessee than on the road against an SEC team. TV exposure be damned, if we take an early upset the season is toast.

Haven't you heard? The earlier you lose the better. If there were any SEC team I would want to start the season off against it is Moo state. We own them.

Please don't compare us to Bama. I feel dirty now.

I think it is a good challenge right away for our team. We should be able to win. If we can't our team probably doesn't have it anyhow. This will probably be Moo U's home game of the year. Starkville will probably be hopping (as much as Starkville can hop).
