If he comes he better not be our 'D' coordinator.

Yes, don't worry we will back him and his family. The Bengal Belles organization is very supportive of the players and the staff! We can really put out the red carpet... yesterday's posts were blowing off steam and tension. It was hard to see the Sabans decide to leave and to lose the bowl game like that so bear with us.Welcome Coach Miles! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Coach draws mixed reaction from fans

    CARL DUBOIS.*Advocate.*Baton Rouge, La.:*Dec 1, 1999.*pg.*4.D

    Abstract (Document Summary)

The only Heisman Trophy ever won by an LSU football player sits inside a trophy case at TJ Ribs. Memorabilia and mementos of the school's sports teams adorn nearly every nook in the restaurant.

Less than two hours after Nick Saban was announced as Gerry DiNardo's replacement, TJ Ribs regular Rodney Jackson waited for his lunch and tried to decide how he felt about the new coach.

"It kind of confuses everyone," said Jackson, 35, a mortgage loan officer in Gonzales. "I really wanted Dennis Erickson, someone like that, particularly if they're going to spend the kind of money they are spending."Jackson isn't alone. In a poll of TJ Ribs customers, Erickson - who recently signed a contract extension at Oregon State - was the top vote-getter (81 of 565).

I hear a lot of OK State fans saying he will be here just a few years until he bolts for Michigan. If all of these internet fans are aware of this, don't you think Skip is as well? With the health of Carr and rumors of his stepping down soon, there is no way in my opinion that Skip hires Miles if he is so adamant about going to Michigan.
The LSU football program brings in too much money and has too much at stake to allow this, IMO.

I really feel like to Coach Miles this is his dream job. If a man's dream is to coach college football on the grandest scale with awesome in-state talent, and with the resources to make a program run the way it should, who in their right mind wouldn't want this job.
I am one Cowboy fan that didn't buy into the Michigan thing too much. When the Lloyd Carr throat cancer rumor started this season, and Les got linked to the coaching job, he got pissed and adamently denied it to anyone who would listen.
As long as you guys treat him right, he'll treat you better. You got winner in Coach Miles.

Good choice! Look at his success in Stillwater. Any of our complaining LSU fans ever been to stillwater? Ever look at the facilities? How noticed the lack of D1 talent in OK. Lastly, imagine trying to compete with the Big Dog in Norman. This guy has been pretty successful in a very tough situation. He has definately played against and won against significantly better teams than Petrino and the players he used were his. All the concern about the defense. Where were these complaints about Petrino's defense?
Anyone complaining has a right to their opinion, especially if they are season ticket holders, but for god sakes pull your head out of your asses and compare apples to apples.
If if doesnt work, we can him in 3 or 4 years and look again.
    Geaux Tigers!!

Everything that I have heard or read since he's been at OSU is that Michigan is his dream job. It won't surprise me if he bolts there when the opportunity arises. Of course, anyone can always change their mind about that. LSU is a great job. I really hope he works out for you guys. I like LSU. I will say however, that I think you guys could have gotten better. Hope I'm wrong about that.

Bertman had to ask Miles if he intends on using LSU as sort of "stepping stone. I think Michigan will just promote instead of going after another person.

    Hey Reagan Eden,

Someone on here posted an earlier question bout Les. Thought you might know. Never seemed to get an answer. Is Les short for gulp, Leslie? Or Lester (lol), or what? It might be just plain ole Les.
