I started to respond to this...but you know what? In mid-reply, I decided I wouldn't. It's just not worth my effort. Have a nice friggin' night, MT. :lsug:  :lsug:  :lsug:
I'm not taking a back seat. Are you kidding? We're # 3 in hoops, just came off a final four year. Barry Sanders, 1988. Henry Iba, holy crap. We've moved on, so should you. 1988 was the last winning season until 1997. Then more losing. 2001 enter Les Miles, beat OU, 2002 8-5, 2003 9-4, 2004 7-5. He did some great stuff, but we are not the power that LSU is, we know that. I don't want him to go, but such is life, bigger and better things await succesful people. I can't be ticked at him for bettering himself and doing what is right for his family, because I do what's right for mine.
Let's say, for the sake of argument, that Miles' dream job is Michigan. Further, suppose he plans to coach at LSU until the Michigan job opens up and then go after it hard. Would he TELL that to Bertman? I think not! There are ways to answer such questions to give one's prospective employer enough comfort to hire you while still planning in the back of one's mind to ultimately make such a change.
I've got to say that I am truly amazed at this move. This move just took LSU off the map again. I feel very sorry for you folks! Even more sorry than seeing you blow the Iowa game. Miles' best year at OSU included 4 losses. He will do about as good as Zook did at Florida. I just don't get it. At least Petrino was on the same level as Saban. Going after Miles and Nutt to replace Saban? A step down for LSU with either of these guys.
