Yesterday, WEEI radio here in Boston reported that Saban was leaving as well. They didn't give terms or anything else, so I came off feeling that it was more of a "speculation" than a factual statement..... I just hope I'm right and they were premature....

Yeah...kinda like Saban is bound by his contract--which he signed just last year for the next 7 seasons....

Guess contracts don't mean squat when you're in the head coaching ranks....

Also, what ever happend to Saban's "I promised myself that I would finish what I started" comment he made last year following his announcement that he was turning down Chicago and staying??? What?! All of a sudden, 1 season later, at 9-2, he all-of-a-sudden feels that he's finished what he set out to accomplish?!?!?!?!?!?!

Let's see......Del Rio has been part of the entire rebuilding process for the Jaguars....it's an NFL gig....doesn't get better than that....his team is destined to make the playoffs with a home victory over Houston and a road victory over Oakland. He's got one of the better young QBs with Leftwich. He is adorned in Jacksonville.

Yeah, sure, he'll leave the successful Jags to go coach at the college level.

I think everyone on this board owes it to Nick Saban to give him positive rep.

I would like to see how high his rep points can go if everyone on here does exactly that. He already got my vote.

The point is, he's likely the only NFL coach with job security that would consider the LSU job because he understands what it entails and what it means...

    I no comprende'

He has absolutely no affiliation with LSU. How does he understand the LSU situation any better than other NFL coaches?

Why would we want a guy who has no clue how to recruit, how to deal with young players.. etc etc.

LSU needs to hire a proven College Coach, I wonder if Frank Solich wishes he would have waited 2 weeks to sign with OHIO

Frank Solich signed with Ohio? As in Ohio University?

My, how he has fallen from grace.

If Saban makes it official that he accepts the Miami job I will elaborate. Let's see what Coach Saban does...
