You're not getting it. They were hoping he would be able to play through it and avoid surgery. Then they got worried that maybe he wouldn't and decided to at least salvage him for the playoffs instead of potentially having him be ineffective with him trying to play through the pain.
Jenkins has talent, he's just not NFL ready. He could have been called for holding on every single pass play against the pats and was burned repeatedly against the skins. Hopefully some of the other guys will get healthy and Jenkins can learn in mop up duty.
Gay is listed as probable vs the Falcons. Porter actually practiced yesterday and is listed as doubtful. Hopefully he will play vs the Cowboys.
