Of course Del Rio and his agent could be trying to squeeze more money out of Jacksonville and are just using LSU as leverage.

Exactly the reason he should coach. The only name we can spell.

Exactly. Sometimes I get the feeling that some of our fans think we can pick and choose anyone we want.

Del Rio won't be coming here if Jax makes the playoffs.

They are losing 14-0 at halftime to the Texans right now though.

Looks like Jacksonville is going to lose also, how ironic, Double D and company.

This scenario just might work out!

    Go for substance, not flash

Skip is right, it is important to get a good "fit" for the next coach. It is tempting to make a splash w/ a name that might wow folks, like Davis, Erickson. But my gut tells me neither of those guys would be good fits and they each have baggage. Jack Del Rio? Yeah, I like the idea of a young, enthusiastic guy, who has NFL exp. Could he recruit? Why couldn't he? Winning would take care of that. Are the Jags out of the playoffs w/ today's loss?

Just me, but I don't think Davis, Erickson or Tuberville are the way to go. My short list would include Del Rio, Rodriguez, and Petrino. I don't think Petrino would leave L'ville after just signing a big extension. Spurrier? I hear his name mentioned on other forums, but would be really leave South Carolina for LSU without coaching a game there? I just don't see him doing that. But, as much as I've always disliked him, yeah, he would be an awesome hire. :lsug: :geaux:
