With the exception of a couple of plays, I think most of the yards have come on blown coverages as opposed to just getting beat. This is correctable and the bye week will help tremendously in shoring this up before the FU game.

If they don't correct this during the off week we may see it the rest of the year.

Yep, and LBs covering the backs out of the backfield. But hopefully this can get corrected by 10/11.

And of course, as we all know, pass defense starts by putting pressure on the QB.

I think having Beckwith back (if he's 100 %) will help with covering that RB coming out of the backfield. Losing him is at least part of the reason our D fell back a notch in the last 2 games.

eugene is doing great, but the real tests are yet to come---harvin, green, jones.

was wondering who is more athletic, eugene or peterson? based on hype id guess peterson so i wonder if he'll get put on harvin some because of the speed?

I think Peterson is more athletic, but I think Eugene is a guy that will get after Harvin. Thats the key with PH. You have to lay the wood to him...knock him around a bit. That'll cause him to fumble the football.

Peterson is a true shut down corner...one on one with any WR. Jai isnt quite at that level; however, is athletic enough to hold down that position.

I see Peterson getting in more series every week. Im wondering if he takes the starting job before the year is over. Unless Im missing something.

Jai then takes over for Hawkins next year.

Agree with the thread though...Jai is much improved over last season and doesnt make me nervous.

Yeah. We'll need to switch up coverage on him. But in every case we need to beat on him.
