I agree with most of your post, but not this part. I actually think he makes difficult passes look easy. The TD pass to Davis was a thing a beauty and not many college QBs could have made that throw. He had to throw a bullet right where he did. The other pass that critics don't want to talk about was the 4th down throw to Doucet on the last drive. Doucet was closely guarded and it required a very accurate bullet. Kudos to Doucet for hanging on to it. Just glad he didn't stumble another yard or two backwards. I agree with you about JR's deep balls. He seems like he is still learning when to rifle it or put some air under it. It's almost like he's aiming it and just trying to get it in the neigborhood for a reception, like the Davis pass that was dropped.
What's hilarious about the posts we are seeing here is that if the ball in the endzone to win the game isn't caught in an acrobatic fashion by Early Doucet and glances off his hands (and both receivers were wide open, so the pass should have an easy play), and LSU gone on to lose in OT, these same people would be agreeing with me. I will stand by what I said earlier. This is a fair analysis of his performance. The threads I start are always meant to start an open and frank discussion on the matter at hand. Don't stick your heads in the sand people, it is what it is. JR put us in a serious hole with his erractic performance yesterday. The game should never have been close. Don't come crying after the Arkansas game acting like you didn't see it coming should he repeat the effort. On a bright side, I love the fact that he ran for 71 yards. Have we been missing a component of JR's game these past 3 years? I know he isn't regarded as mobile, but when he gets in the open field and makes up his mind to run, he is a load to tackle.
How would that be JR's fault? He was throwing to a wide open Bowe in the back of the endzone and it was a perfect pass to him. Doucet cutoff his route in front of Bowe and intercepted the ball. Go look at the replay...
I done seen it all. Certainly, JR made a couple of mistakes that hurt us. But to not give him credit for winning the game is about as asinine and oblivious an assessment as one could make. Bye-bye, credibility.
Bowe was running the opposite direction of the ball, so maybe you should look at the replay. The pass was thrown behind him and would have called for the same acrobatic catch as Early.
You must be getting tired of being wrong these days. Bowe was running from left to right. Doucet was short and to the right of Bowe. He stopped and drifted back to the left and dove for the ball. Surely someone can post the replay here for all of us to see?
Yeah but you forgot 1 thing... It DIDN'T happen like that. Doucet DIDN'T drop the ball, LSU DIDN'T lose the game. Plain and simple. You can say IF all you want but that doesn't make it so. JR is the starting QB for a reason and despite the turnovers, he made his point last night. Of course there are those that just won't accept anything other than what THEY consider perfection. It really must be a miserable life.
I agree with you but we can talk, present facts, and point out all the good he did until we're bllue in the face, but it won't change the minds of those who focus on the negatives. These type of people obviously lead miserable lives. I'm just surprised we have so many of them here.
