I think this is a dirct reflection of pi$$ poor coaching in highschool. Williamson is a very poor school with crap coaching. If they had decent coaches they would have won the state title in Alabama quite a few times. J-Rock was given very little help in HS understanding the fundamentals of playing the QB position. He has always been a physical specimen and many of the players from Williamson are very good athletes. Williamson just cant coach em which is why J-Rock is so raw. It wouldnt surprise me if J-Rock becomes the QB everyone thought he should already be after a few years in an NFL system. He has the talent and he isnt stupid, just raw.

I suspect the uncertainty of the healing of his wrist and perhaps his "slow" progression in the system made him feel a bit insecure about the next season with two good QB's breathing down his neck.

    Tin4, calm down.

This is an anonymous message board. That automatically means that you have to take "insider information" with a grain of salt - especially when it's from posters with very few posts.

i have no concern with Russell going pro. I feel as he is a selfish player on and off the field that plays as a one man team during the games. It doesnt surprise me to see that he does not get along with some players because that is the way he looks on the field. I think he is a great player but does not play together with his team, and it only supports my opinion now knowing that he has a big tattoo saying "the chosin one". When flynn played in the bowl i saw a flow in the offense that i never saw all year. He seems to move the ball better down the field. I also know that Perrilouix has never played a down but i want see the kid play because in college football i think the quarterback needs to be somewhat mobile(like Flynn and Perrilouix) instead of the rumbling, stumbling, fumbling Jamarcus.

The players were all backing JaMarcus before the season. Assuming he stays, I expect the same thing next season. Things could have changed though. I don't think JaMarcus plays selfishly - how can a pocket passer? He does put the team on his back sometimes, but considering the games it's won us - I'm not complaining.

It has been discussed quite a bit about whether the team's performance in the Peach Bowl was due to Flynn or not. I won't argue it on this thread. We may never know.

A pocket passer QB can be very successful. Mobility is a nice bonus, but far from a prerequisite. JaMarcus's lack of mobility wasn't what was limiting him all season. A sloppy Oline, injured running game & receivers who can't catch were.

As for whether you'd prefer Flynn or Perrilloux - that has nothing to do with whether you want JaMarcus to stay. Even if one of the other 2 wins the starting spot, it sure would be nice to have a QB with JR's experience & ability as a backup.

All he needs to do is learn how to tip better and he is all set for next year.
