I talked with Crawfish today and he has an inside source that says Bowe and Landry will not return next year.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that despite the cut he'd have in $, he'd prefer to be with a decent team in the mid-rounds like the Vikings, than with a complete dead in, like the Lions or something like that, because winning is of the utmost importance to him.

Remember now that this is the same guy who refuses to wear his 2003 NC ring, because he wasn't on the field.

I agree. I would probably rank the above QB's as:

    1. Chad Henne --He's showing that he can be a good decision-maker. My pro comparison: Marc Bulger

    2. Brian Brohm --runs an NFL-type offense. Possibly a little shorter than what the pro scouts would like. My pro comparison: Jake Delhome

    3. Troy Smith --If Vick was/is the "new generation NFL QB", then Smith is the new generation Vick. 1st rounder

    4. JaMarcus Russell --can make every thrown in the NFL but his "big-game decision making" is suspect. But he does have a poise in last-minute sitiations with the game on the line. Possibly 1st rounder--definately high 2nd.

    5. Drew Tate --starting to fall off since his Cap One bowl heroics over us. Possibly a 3rd round draft choice.

    6. Chris Leak --don't think he has the passing skills to be a starting QB in the NFL. Someone will draft him--but likely 2nd day.

    7. Drew Stanton --playing horribly. Wouldn't be surprised if he ended up being an UDFA.

I wonder if he fully understands how great of a chance at the National Championship LSU would have next year if he stays. That adds up to a giant amount of money he'd command from the team that drafts him. If he stays, we'll start #2 or 3 in preseason rankings. And the schedule,,,,,,,,,,it's gotta having him thinking of staying.

The retirement thing was goofy, but Gisclair is right much more often than not. Lest we not forget that he showed up and bamboozled us with his RP connections, nevermind the fact that none of us can figure out why the athletes would hang with a goofy looking mofo like Gisclair. :hihi:
Nope, he's more like 80% bad. The Lions game was an anomaly. I'm still stunned that Joey Heisman is QBing my Fins.
I'm guessing he has more of an idea about the team's potential than just about anybody on this board. However, he also will have to figure out what's best for him, and that's what he should do. And that will likely be going pro (unless Gisclair's referenced insurance policy works out) because he will be a first round pick. No doubt about it, barring injury.

I think Smith and Henne are the only ones to worry about on that list. And personally I think Henne is overrated, Braylon Edwards made him and he has always had that stud receiving corps where he could just chuck it up to. It would be a good year for JR to come out in, but when you look at his career, he has progressed enormously each year he has played. This year =26 TD's 7 INT's....just imagine what he could do next year as a more developed QB.

I almost forgot why I disagree with the majority of your posts until now. Thanks for the reminder.

I agree. I would LOVE to see JR return. Our schedule next season--and with the players returning--are Championship-caliber!
