the supreme court determined that gore's continuing attempts to overthrow the election would end. because they were illegal. gore wanted to use a set of different counting ways to make him win. the supreme court said they must use the same standard to count votes everywhere in florida. so gore was trying to overthrow the election by finding votes for him by redefining what a vote was. supreme court said it was not legal, unconstitutional. so he was trying to break laws to overthrow our democracy.
