1. YES! A good, smart coach would say "throw it in the endzone, if a miracle happens and we catch the ball in play, we will run..." (insert another play...as long as it's not a stupid fade pattern)
  2. No the clock stopped when TT went down maybe 1 sec rolled away.

But after he was ruled down the Ole Miss player came up with the ball. From the time the clock stopped until the ref signaled 1st down for LSU about 5 secs passed and then it took 25 secs for the chain gang to get down the field and reset the chains.

30 secs which if the field goal team isnt on the sideline ready to go is not enough time to get them ready..but is PLENTY of enough time to get a play in from the sideline to run for a throw into the endzone.
  3. Looking at the video, it's clear that Miles wasn't signaling to spike the ball. He wasn't even looking towards Jefferson. He wouldn't have been signaling spike the ball to the receivers. He was trying to make sure that the ref called Tolliver down before the ball came loose.

Cauble leaked this video and came to the wrong conclusion. Now he doesn't want to admit that he was wrong. This debacle won't be good for the careers of Miles and Cauble.

There is still no excuse for letting all that time slip away before the Hail Mary attempt.

  4. This is from TD but I'll let the debate begin yet again. To me it looks like he is saying "insert word here it" but I can't tell if he's mouthing clock. Whatever it is it isn't "he's down" or whatever it was people were claiming.

  5. You go look at the HD video from CST and tell me he isn't saying "[something] it" while motioning the spike it hand motion. Now I see him mouth a C or K it looks like but at least I'm honest enough to say I cannot say with 100% certainty it's clock. You claiming he's not motioning to spike it is being dishonest. I know we're all upset about the major blunder but it's on tape. At this point it's better to admit it and move on.
  6. Why would he be yelling clock it at the receivers? Jefferson wasn't close to that area of the field yet.

Your good if you can read Miles' lips on that grainy feed.
  7. I can't answer why he would do it. This isn't the grainy video that was posted a few days ago. This is an HD video and far from grainy. Look I don't want to admit that he did either but it's obvious he's yelling [IIIII] it.
  8. Who is he yelling "clock it" too? The receivers didn't respond as if Miles was talking to the team. They just walked back to their teammates. Was he yelling "clock it" to the refs? That doesn't make any sense at all.

Usually when someone signals to spike the ball, they cup their hand as if they are holding a football and make a throwing motion at the ground. That isn't what Miles was doing.

The coaching sucked, but I disagree on that one point that Miles was signaling to spike the ball given that he wasn't even looking in Jefferson's direction.
  9. Re: Jefferson Tried to hustle his team off the field

I bet it was more like, "Don't worry, we'll get 'em at halftime."

    Doh.

  10. I admit that I haven't seen the HD video. I'll take a look at it.
