1. To me, (and anyone else with a brain), putting the game in JJs hands at that point means only one thing. QB sneak up the middle, QB sneak up the middle, QB sneak up the middle...QB, call timeout. Good job QB.

FG unit, go win the game for us. Thank you.
  2. I'm not sure I'd have run JJ up the middle. He was limping. But Ridley would've been a valid running option, even Shepard.
  3. If Miles had called time out at the .26 mark. it would have been 4th and Jackson MS. It would have changed the play call. I almost positive that a long cross route would have been called short of the first down marker, and have who ever catches it try and pick up the first and either get out of bounds, or leave youself with enough time left to clock it.

With all the things that happened with us in the last touchdown drive and the onside kick, i feel like a great moment in history was robbed from the LSU nation.

  5. Re: Jefferson Tried to hustle his team off the field

When I watched the end of the you tube video, they show Les Miles motioning to "spike it" or as they call it, "clock it". That clip of him motioning to spike it was right when #80 was being tackled. As he was being tackled the clock was still running and was at 3 seconds. Right when he was tackled, I was yelling spike it until the clock finally stopped at 0.01. Then I stopped and said "Oh s***"". I would think that Miles' first reaction after any hail mary play is to yell to spike it just like I did. After the first 2 seconds after the tackle, I don't see any evidence that he or any other coach was yelling to spike it in that you tube video. I think that the sequence of the video clips by channel 2 was misleading and poor journalism.

The spike it motion was a gut reaction as the tackle happened and that gut reaction changed when the clocked stopped at 1 second. The "play call" is not a bunch of coaches jumping up and down as the rcvr is being tackled. I would think that sanity should have come from the booth and the side line after that gut reaction and there was an actual play call sent into JJ as the team was running up the field. So when Miles said that the spike it play call was not sent in, that may have been true. JJ said it was sent in. What play was actually sent it, we don't know yet. Only the coaches and players know. I don't think that the video of Miles jumping around with the spike it motion has anything to do with the play sent it 15 seconds later.

I am not in any way defending the clock management skills of Miles, the play calling of Crowton. They sucked. Period. And heads should roll.

  7. Oh $hit...technology. The basketball is too funny.
  8. Re: Jefferson Tried to hustle his team off the field

His comment to JJ was, "We don't have a timeout left?"
  9. I'm not so sure he wasn't signaling that Tolliver was down instead of a spike. You can see an Ole Miss player with the ball who probably is claiming he recovered a fumble. It's hard to call in my opinion. The game wasn't lost on that play anyway (which really wasn't a play to begin with). It was lost when we allowed all those precious seconds to tick, tick, tick away before calling a timeout.:nope:

Because he is a bone head. I would have thought the bonehead clock management in the 2007 Auburn game may have cured him of this stupidity but I guess Flynn & Byrd saving his butt on that miracle throw and making him a hero and starting the Lesticle legend made him think he actually has a brain. Sorry Les but NO!
