1. Given how many times he was sacked and how many times the receivers dropped balls in their hands, I think JJ figured we had our best chance at getting at least 6-7 yds with the run. He was right.
  2. Yeah, it almost implied that from the article.
  3. Get over yourself. We're not Jefferson haters. We love the kid.
  4. Definitely. Like you posted earlier, the game is still moving a little fast for him and it will take some time for him to fit all the pieces together. He has all the physical tools, just needs some coaching and more experience. IMO the comments show a lack of confidence that may have come from his struggles in this game. He hasn't showed a lack of confidence in his abilities before. I thought he would advance a little quicker this season than he has. Hopefully the coaches will pick it up a notch and pick up the pace of his learning. When he puts it all together he has the ability to be really special. Not many QB's are as accurate as he is on the run. That combined with his running ability and arm strength are a killer for opposing D's. When the light comes on look out.
  5. Is that all you have to add to the conversation? If that's the the most intelligent thing you can bring to the table in this discussion of LSU football you might want to sit this one out.:dis::dis::dis:
  6. I noticed the same thing about him running to the right when he was tearing up GT in the Peach bowl. He seems more comfortable doing that than staying in the pocket. I never saw him in HS but did he usually roll out when he was in HS?
  7. We were already within field goal range. JJ had been getting heat and sacked in the 2nd half. With Georgia expecting pass, a run would surely get positive yardage making it a more makable field goal. I think it was a smart decision by our QB and so did Miles. Little did everyone know Scott would take it to the house.

  8. I don't think that this reflects on JJ's confidence at all. I agree with those that think that it reflects on his game awareness and all around football smarts. I am even more impressed with JJ now. I think that JJ is taking on the coach's personality and is trying to do whatever it takes to win.

Before they lines up, I thought it would be a play where everyone goes deep and JJ rolls right and is a designed keeper for JJ to run and try to get as many yards as possible. But unlike most here, I can't predict every play. ;)

Egotistical confidence without basis is NOT an admirable trait. I would much rather someone who is game aware and is doing whatever is needed to win instead of always calling his own number due to "confidence". I work with people like that and it is destructive. Now they can trust JJ's decisions in the future when he does call his own number.
  9. Right - on plays where he had a 7 step drop, how many times did he double clutch or pump fake a throw, then end up getting sacked? It appears to indicate that he 'thinks' s receiver is open, but he's hesitant to throw unless he's 100% sure. I guess that's better than just slinging it and hoping for the best, but I wish he's trust his instincts a little more. We just have to keep reminding ourselves that he's only a sophomore and he's still developing.
  10. Ive always been one to feel its better to play to win, rather than take a conservative route. We hadnt ran well all game. I dont like trusting a field goal kicker either. Plus at the time it would have not been a gimme kick. I rather try to throw to get in a lil better position, then you can run it out. Thankfully Scott broke free and scored. I still dont at all like the call, but loved he result!
