Good article, thanks for posting it.

Sucks for Watson, that Auburn wouldn't help him get to a better football program close to home...I can think of only one! Guess that's the way it goes though. Hope he succeeds.

Then again, it might make him think he should go with his first choice.

His first choice has been LSU all his life hopefully! :)

Jerald was simply a super quick athlete at a decent 1A school. Being from Morgan City, I've seen my fair share of him over the years. Everyone I know was shocked when he thought he had a chance to play at LSU. To be honest, he'd be better off running track or playing baseball. He was better at both. I'm not trash-talking him, he is a great athlete, just not an SEC caliber football player.

I believe if he would transfer to a school that they do not approve, they could withhold his release and he would have to sit out two years instead of just one. I think that's how it goes...

He doesn't have to sit out at all at SLU.

Watson was well-liked and highly regarded by his teamates at AU. It's a shame he couldn't break into the starting lineup, but with that many talented seniors, Watson really didn't have a chance in his first year.

I'm not convinced it would've been much different at LSU, though he would've been much closer to home.....and sometimes that makes all the difference for these young athletes.

AU and it's fans wish JW the best....he did a good job for us while he was on the Plains. :thumb:
