Jeremy Hill and Jarvis Landry looking around

    TheDude I'm calmer than you.

Landry has said the same thing before, during and after his commitment to LSU. That being said, I never liked the way it sounded. He has every right to go anywhere and see every school, but a shaky (sounding) commit makes the fans nervous, maybe even the coaches(who knows?). And could just as easily blow up in our face.

But plenty of people say he is a true P&G kid, so maybe it means nothing in the long run. Lord knows Feb is a loooong ways from now.

Yep but I also want all of our commits to get better and camps are the best way to do that outside of their own practices.

BTW, Jarvis Landry is likely going to be at Junior Day this weekend. He also discussed that he is firm with LSU on Rivals.

I cant stand this crap of committing, then taking other offers. I know you cant slap the kid in the face and say I wont accept your commit because it will look bad and youll lose out on a lot of kids. In an ideal world though it would be nice. I do feel they stay firm to LSU but when you are out looking, you arent fully committed. Plus you never know, they may see something to make them switch.

I expect the "verbal commit" is on the way out. This is the kind of crap that the NCAA will feast on.

The WORD of these children mean nothing. Apologists abound.

Yeah, I know they can tell the coach what they want, but I can see the day when ANOTHER RULE is put in place to remove the "commit" from the public domain.

Not saying I would be for or against it, I don't care, but it makes too many stakeholders look bad.

Junior commitments are almost always conditional. Both parties know that a lot can happen and that either could back out. Blue chip athletes "collect" offers in the spring and often judge each other by who they have been offered from. Some will never commit, but offers still get LSU on a lot of short lists which is a good place to be.

Some of those who commit early want to have it both ways. They want to lock up a spot with their favorite team, but they want to say that they have offers from Bama and Florida and Notre Dame, too. They will camp and they will visit other schools, but the coaches know how this works, too. In fairness, LSU and everybody else overcommits and sometimes has to back off a guy later in the season. Chit happens and there are risks for both parties.

Bhelm, isn't is sorta protocol that these kids turn their commits into soft verbal's if they want to take official visits elsewhere? Which really doesn't mean anything, hell these kids are 17 yrs old, getting the opportunity to get out of their little home towns and getting to see the world a bit is good for them.

Maybe I'm in the wrong, but I'm a little dissappointed in this. Louisiana boys talking all about "the fam", helping recruit other kids to LSU... now your opening up your recruitment? Now that can hurt our entire recruiting class, other recruits saying if they're looking around so should we...

Like I said, maybe I'm completely wrong, but that's how I see it.

    I don't like it either.

The staff understands what Hill is dealing with and if it was all up to Hill he would still be committed. Let it play out and you will see he has it under control with the Fam and the LSU staff.
