Apparently he doesn't like the role he will play as probably a co-OC with Miles. Maybe he thinks that he won't be calling the plays or won't have the same freedom he had before. Even though, if I was Jimbo I would stay. You are at a top program and can work together with Miles to have a great offense and you will receive much of the credit. Rather than go to a horrible Browns team to be a QB coach. That's an easy decision for me. Stay Jimbo. Stay.
Odd move...OC for major program v. QB Coach for a fledgling offense with no QB? Very strange indeed. Probably just testing the waters and practicing his interviewing skills for a bigger position down the road.
Top coaches get offers and they listen to them, it's the way the coaching business operates. If this job is right for Jimbo at this point in his career, then he'll go. If he feels that he needs to punch his ticket with some experience in the NFL (like Saban and Miles) then he might take this offer. But, if he's really looking for a Division I head coaching job after this season, he'll likely stay here at LSU where he will probably have a very good year.
Everyone needs to remember that Fisher's agent is Sexton. Sexton has become known for throwing out the names of his clients and I am sure that he wants them to interview for the jobs just to keep their names fresh. :geauxtige
sexton sounds like he needs a good ole fashioned tiger ass-kickin' i'm tired of hearing about that douche...it's never good when i do.
Jimbo leaving is not much of a loss. Maybe better in the long run. Maybe we can steal Borges from Auburn and give him a high pay raise.
Seems like we're the only ones who think this. I'd love for Jimbo to stay, but if he DOES go, it's not too bad considering CLM's offensive mindset.
