90 million dollars out of 5 billion, what a conservative hero he is. Its all politics, if he's such a conservative stalwart dont take any of it Jindal, see where that gets you. I guess he's a tenth of a percent of a conservative. I understand why he didnt take that part of the money because of the tax increase implications at the end of 2 or 4 years, but he should really stop the grandstanding and be pragmatic.
I'm not trying to divert, just taking a jab at the buffoon Nagin. Relax. I think it's great that Jindal is taking the time to examine each program to make sure it is in the long term interest of the state. Too many people in this country are of the "I want it now" culture and never think about the long term consequences of their actions. You call Jindal's actions posturing, I see it as being responsible.
And I think Jindal is a buffon for making this political. I dont have a problem with his review at all, but dont posture for the cameras because he wants to boost his conservative credentials to the nation. If you lost your job to no fault of your own and had all the education and experience in the world to land another job, but had difficulty because of the number of applicants to each job you applied for and in the meanwhile unemployment was a ways of plugging some holes, I think you would take the money, its easy to lecture from a high branch.
Jindal didn't go running to the cameras. They came to him because it is a story of national interest when someone does what he did. What would you have him do when they ask him why he didn't take it? "Well, you see, um, I just wanted to tell Obama he can't buy me. Make no mistake, it's not because I'm not on the Obama band wagon, it's because us backward hicks in La just like to stir up shyt" Yep, that would've been better. Everything about this stimulus package is political! If we are gonna label the buffoons, Nagin is the poster child for buffoondom.
