As soon as I saw Obama on the podium with him, I knew he was not running. No way would Obama stand there with a Democratic candidate for President. I don't think either sitting official will endorse a candidate before the convention, unless there is only one candidate by then. Webb dropped out already.

That's probably right. I think Obama would have endorsed him over Hillary. There is no love lost between Obama and the Clintons.
Why in the world would you imagine that? Republicans aren't going to vote for a democrat anyway, but Obama could turn out the blacks, the Hispanics, the liberals, the progressives and most of the moderates that elected him twice.
