blah, blah, blah...more arrogance from someone who can't seem to remove his nose from the anal cleft of john brady. I bet you've got a whole closet of matching polos like big john, too.
probably underdeveloped physically. wasnt highly regarded out of high school if i remember correctly. may take a couple years for him to be sec caliber. i certainly wasnt expecting him to play this year.
i dont know what he's doing with these guys, but we're ok at guard (heaven forbid we lose one to injury though) and i doubt one of them would beat out lazare for post player. we only play 7 but he could play 8--most of the debate is why he doesnt play lazare. i dont think those freshmen would help. the only reason to play them is for their basketball maturity and its probably not worth losing the year. but one of them better be ready to play next year with us losing hudson and whipple. i guesss mitchell will play 3 but atleast one guard will need to spell mitch and minor.
turnovers is nowhere near the top reason this team is not better. 1. perimeter D 2. outside shooting 3. post entry 4. transition D 5. team D 6. turnovers i'm intentionally excluding the obvious-- 1. crappy coach.
If this is the case then this makes my case. We shouldn't recruit kids that aren't SEC calibur and this makes me ask the question, why recruit a kid that isn't SEC calibur? Does this make sense to anyone? This is why I have to question like I do sometimes, why court him when U can go after a Martin Zeno or the other players from the state of Louisiana that got away and went to Tulane or out of state. I realize some kids might want to go to a different state for college but you can't convince me that you can't get some of them to stay instate and play with a kid like Brandon Bass or Big Baby. It should be easier courting better players with players like Bass and Big Baby playing for you then signing a lessor player and hoping you can bring him alone especially when your short handed to begin with. Where U around when I asked about the recruits that were instate last year? I was given 5 recruits and watched them leave the state while we went after Garrett Temple and others of what I was told were lessor calibur. This was from people who saw these players play first hand. This is where I stand, I hope for the best for mens LSU basketball but John Brady has said and done things that make people geaux huh? About Lazarre, I agree, he looked good sometimes last year. Thank You for a civil discussion with me instead of attacking me or not responding to me like SabanFan does to me. I give him credit for his last post though although we just don't agree when it comes to mens hoops.
I know the D is bad but I did list post entry, with high turnovers I don't think you can win though, I disagree there.
take a look at this sourdoughman. TURNOVER MARGIN ## Team G TEAM Avg OPP Avg Margin -------------------------------------------------------- 1.Kentucky............ 17 212 12.5 328 19.3 +6.82 2.Arkansas............ 19 273 14.4 356 18.7 +4.37 3.Auburn.............. 18 252 14.0 299 16.6 +2.61 4.Florida............. 16 235 14.7 273 17.1 +2.38 5.Ole Miss............ 20 287 14.4 334 16.7 +2.35 6.South Carolina...... 17 232 13.6 269 15.8 +2.18 7.Georgia............. 16 224 14.0 249 15.6 +1.56 8.Tennessee........... 19 271 14.3 265 13.9 -0.32 9.Mississippi State... 20 292 14.6 276 13.8 -0.80 10.Alabama............. 19 233 12.3 212 11.2 -1.11 11.Vanderbilt.......... 19 299 15.7 274 14.4 -1.32 12.LSU................. 16 230 14.4 206 12.9 -1.50 were in the same boat with every sec team except uk on to. the reason we're last in turnover margin is because we dont force any--that largely falls on perimeter D. shooting passing lanes, pestering the man with the ball, and defensive help. a lot of that is just not being aggressive, but its also because we dont have much length. minor and mitchell are short, whipple is slow. hud is good. its not turnovers.
this stats chart doesnt say everything but its a general indicator. high t.o. arent bad if you have more posessions (UF) and lower t.o.s dont mean much if you play a slow style (UGA, USC).
John Brady needs to go. There is no reason LSU should not be a top 20 program. I remember from 1979 to about 1991- LSU was a top 20 program under Dale Brown, included in that span were 2 final fours and 2 final eights. This state produces plenty enough talent to get the job done.
