Has anybody heard this rumour? I live in Jacksonville, FL and I don't know why writers in Florida would have the scoop over the local media. This rumour came from a rivals.com writer. Brent Beird, I think.

I think McDermott is a great hire for Iowa State. On Alford, who knows... but things are heating up. Yesterday someone parked a rented U-Haul in front of his house with a sign that read, "We'll help you pack your crap". Personally, I hate to see "fans" pulling that stuff, but you gotta give style points to the renter. Most everyone just wants it over. If he goes, most everyone wants Majerus. Alford could never recruit Chicago... and that's the kiss of death at a school like Iowa.
Sarcasm? I guess the Big 12 is easier going than the Big 10 for a new coach. I would rather see a good coach like that at a school I have respect for than the Cyclones. lol! Right, cause fatty definitely will have enough credibility to recruit Chicago. If you are worried about that, just pay Jerry Wainright a million per.
No sarcasm on McDermott. He is highly respected and was often mentioned as a replacement for Alford. ISU is coming off two "firings", Eustachy for partying with the students and Morgan for involvement with D1 Scheduling, so they need a guy with McDermott's class. He'll do well.
