I like the hire. Seems to me a guy who knows Louisiana will do well.

Now I wonder if he needs a skinny 6 foot white kid who can dunk and shoot 3's. :D

I'm not wild about the hire, but I also know that LSU is a second tier basketball program at best. We have flashes of greatness in our past, but don't kid yourself that we are or will become a perennial power in the sport. that said, I suppose Johnny Jones is probably the best LSU could have hoped for.

I just would have liked to have seen Alleva interview a few others, even if it was just window dressing. After all, the guy was the AD at Duke & I would think he knows a little bit about college basketball!

Hickey and O'Bryant both staying is huge. IMO, had either one left it would've been a disaster, especially after already losing Hamilton. Now hoping Jo Jo can pull a rabbit or two out of his hat with the five scholly's he's got to work with.

Yep, Gerry Dinardo was the best coach we could get. We should have been happy with that fluke SEC championship after being a second-tier football program for over a decade. Who did Emmert think he was hiring a nobody like Nick Saban anyway?

Based on a radio interview he will announce 2 assistants tomorrow. Based on the details he gave it looks like 2 guys from his staff last year. Shawn Forrest and Charlie Leonard.
