He was hitting those slant routes all day long, Skyler dropped a big one that would've been a first down. He did whatever he could on the plays that Jimbo called. There isn't much you can do when there are 3 UGA players giving chase to you everytime you're back there. JR performed great when he had time to pass.
you don't see how he stood out that much??? When he came in in the middle of the 2nd quarter, we score twice.... Granted, I know this is a game that I wish I never sat through myself, but were you even watching? :yelwink2:
I guess Randall's 6-10 yard pass completions at the end of the game on that last drive when we're down by a boatload with 3 minutes (or however much time was left) is what impresses you?
Trust me, I was watching. I guess I just can't lay the blame on Randall. The QB play was not the difference in this game, and to say I thought Russell played well would be wrong. It's a team sport, and they lost as a team. It's not like MR played outstanding football and everyone else sucked today. I just want to make it clear that I was responding to this quote: After watching this UGA game I have no idea how JR proved this to be true.
Look, did I even mention Randall? Did I say anything about him? No. Express your thoughts and do not try to express mine, you are obviously doing a poor job of it. Seriously though, people are grumpy and don't get argumentative here if you can help it. Neither quarterback played well today. As much promise as I see in Russell, I just do not see the consistency. I do not know the stats but I imagine he was barely over 50% completion percentage. Randall looks like a deer in headlights when he is pressured/blitzed. Russell does show ability to evade it - sometimes, but has that same deer in headlights look at times too. The offensive line play is not giving either of them a chance to do much of anything in my opinion. Overall I just do not see ANY quarterback that can lead LSU to success NOW. I do, however, get a weekly glimpse of a bright future in JR. <end ramble>
