1. It is definitely a media frenzy and agenda. Joe is just the high profile, visible target. Agreed he was not the perpetrator, but if he notifies authorities, as opposed to his chain of command, then other victims may have been averted. Even if you argue Joe did what he was supposed to do and followed protocol, if no action was clearly taken in a timely way by them, then he should have done something more at that point, with no action meaning reporting it to police pronto. It's the same inaction mentality that the Catholic church has hid behind.
  2. The Grand Jury concluded that the GA told JP what happened (sex w/ the child). JP reported to his supervisor less than that. Fail on JP. He tried to soften the blow for JS.
  3. The ultimate irony here is the fact that Joe Paterno is a devout Catholic.
  4. Unimaginable end for Jo-Pa. Horrible situation Penn State is in and will be for awhile. But holy smokes, y'all, when did we become a Nation of kid f**ckers? This thing hurts us all and Penn wrote a real good essay about that. My best to him and his family. But my heart and soul go to the kids molested at Penn State.
  5. Paterno out. It had to happen this way.
  6. You have my sympathies. I can't even imagine what that is like. It sounds absolutely devastating. You do a good job communicating the emotion of it in your post.
  7. Thanks Tigerfan 90. I knew it was coming. In fact, it's better this way. With everything going on, I think it's best that Joe isn't there on Saturday. It certainly would have been a train wreck if they would have allowed him to finish up the season on the road at Ohio State and Wisconsin.

  8. Imagine if it happened to one of your kids....Imagine if it happened to you.
  9. Absolutely. I am in no way trying to diminish the disgusting crimes committed, or the painand suffering the victims are enduring.
But this is a sports forum, so I just wanted to express those feelings....
  10. We all live in glass houses. There are perverts everywhere and LSU or Oregon or any school could find itself in such trouble. One can only hope that the people around them keep their eyes open and refuse to tolerate it when it surfaces.

LSU has fired a women's track coach and a women's basketball coach for having sex with players and a women's assistant softball coach resigned under mysterious circumstances. They were scandals, but not crimes since university students can be consenting adults. The Penn State incident has taught us that children can be brought to campus by pedophiles and this conduct must also be investigated and taken seriously.
