I guess its the change of the times, but back in the not so far day it used to be a slap in the face of your opponent, their fans, the school and their coach's. It was a show of disrespect and lack of class to keep starters in a run up a score. Thats what the poll system does for ya.........dips#@ts who only vote because of what the score is. :dis: It is nothing but bad sportsmenship.......plain and simple. There used to be such a thing call class and honor in football, it seems to be slipping away.
Come on now guys, you may not agree with how he handled the BCS situation last year, or the way he does things on the field, but to judge his everyday character based on what he did in a game is unfair. I know there are things in life that I've done that I wouldn't want to be judged on or looked upon as a reflection of my everyday character. I'm sure you guys have too. Do any of you even know Pete on a personal level? He may be a very loving and caring family man and here some of you are calling him harsh names based on what he's done in a GAME. What's worse, to make questionable judgements during a game or continue to judge someone with little basis and as if we ourselves are perfect. I sound like a preacher, but I just think some of us take things to the extreme without truly knowing the facts. What it all boils down to is that he just a coach trying to win games and do what benefits his team in this crazy system that we have.
Do you not think his incessant whining last year and classless acts of sportmanship on the field is not indicative of at least a portion of his character? Why do you love him so much?
This may be true, and I admit it seems to be how some teams get the ranking they do, but I don't agree to it. It's a shame if you must run up a score on an overmatched team to impress someone to vote for you. It's not sportsmen like and takes away from the game of football.
Love him? Can't say that I do, I don't know him like that. I'm not sticking up for PC because he's someone I hold dear to my heart. I just notice a lot of posters on here that love to judge and hate coaches or players for the sake of hating someone. I'm not accusing you in particular, but trust me when I tell you that there tend to be lots of posters around here waiting to jump on every little thing someone does. My main point is, until you've walked a mile in someone's shoes, you don't really have the grounds to judge them.
If it walks like a duck... If the shoe fits... I just call'em like I see'em... ... and all the other corny cliches that seem to apply.
