Wow... A bitter pill to swallow, especially combined with the 3 losses at Tiger Stadium this year.

This was supposed to be the year the schedule was in our favor, right?

That was before we knew we would have to rely on our 3rd and 4th string QBs to win games.

Although the coaching has not been the best, what can you do when you have no QB? There's no way we could've provided any quality playing time last season for Hatch or Lee and Jefferson was still in high school.

We just got stuck in a bad position. I don't think any team could survive resorting to their 3rd and 4th guys.

Good points....but this was the "bad" year for the schedule. In odd years, we get the harder games at home. (FL, AU, etc,.) :geaux:

Still, the 3 home losses has kind of hurt the mystique of Tiger Stadium this season. I hope we roar back next year.

This helps me keep perspective and reminds me that Saban teams looked like crap from time to time as well.

There are only 9 teams in the NCAA that have a current streak in the Top 25 that started before this season, only 6 teams that have a current streak in the Top 25 that started before last season... if you keep going back season by season it goes down to 5 teams, 3 teams, 3 teams, 2 teams, 2 teams, 1 team, 1 team, zero teams.

This was true for the middle of this decade for sure, but it's starting to become a wash for a couple of reasons. First, with having 5 rotating opponents from the east, that means the tougher East opponent (this year Georgia) is now at home when our "tough" road games are on the schedule. Second, back in the middle of the decade, we considered Alabama and Ole Miss as auto-wins (well, practically speaking anyway). Right now, both of those teams are becoming tougher, while Arkansas and Auburn have fallen.

I think that the schedule's getting to be about equal every year at this point. Next year we have Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Miss State on the road. Other than Miss State, that's not an easy stretch.

this is correct after we lost to texas in the cotton in 2002 we dropped out of the top 25.

He said that "LSU droped out of the top 25 after a lose to Ark. Thanksgiving week 2002."

He is correct, LSU fell out of the Top 25 after losing to Arkansas in November. LSU was not ranked when they met Texas in the Cotton Bowl.
