1. What research did he use to say WVU would travel well? We have more people in Baton Rouge than the entire state of West Virginia. Hell Tiger Stadium holds more people than the state of West Virginia.
  2. 35,000 man....he got proof too. He ran all the numbers. Every third person from W. Virginia will be forced to get on a huge bus caravan and will be escorted against their will to the Rose Bowl game. It's all in the works.

    Damn jackleg!
  3. By no means am I defending Herbstriet, but I think WVU does have a reputation for an outstanding fan base who travels well.

  4. Population of entire city of Morgantown West Virginia = 28,292
Population of just students enrolled @ LSU = 30,000
  5. But so do we...that is proven...many times. So it makes his arguement moot
  6. Who gives a sheet how well they travel? Rankings are suposed to be based on who is playing better ball not who travels better. The higher BCS ranked team should recieve the higher ranked bowl bid period.

  7. I just can't see a bunch of beverly hillbilly trucks making it all the way to Pasadena. They'll be strung out all over the country broke down. 3/4 would never make it to the game.
  8. Herby just drooled over Brady Quinn's stats in his last 8 games (26 TDs, 2 INTs)

Here's the 8 teams he played:

    Michigan State
    Purdue
    Stanford
    UCLA
    Navy
    North Carolina
    Air Force
    Army

I know 3 of those games came against our beloved Armed Forces. Maybe Herbstreit thinks that equates to a strong defense.
  9. Re: Gameday

What would make you think that? Arkansas ran all over us, and WVU is a better running team than Arkansas. And they can pass the ball better than Ark.

Out of 10 games played on a neutral field, I think it would be about 5/5 LSU/WVU.
  10. Re: Gameday

It would be a mirror image of the Arkansas game. WVU would have a god awful time against our passing game, we would struggle mightily against the running prowess of WVU. WVU is a much better passing team, which would make it even more difficult to defend.

It would probably be a shootout of sorts. Again, very similiar to the Arkansas outcome from yesterday.
