I took mine from this year's quote. Every year the Strength coaches comment who showed up in shape and, usually, who didn't...

It's just don't feel people should jump down JV's throat. If, in two years, he graduates without accomplishing anything else and its because he went out too much, bitch away...But he's had one bad year and one awesome year and the it seems people were too quickly to bitch about him...

He showed up in shape this year when last year he didn't. That's a good sign. Give him a chance...

I just realized that your quote is a recent one so I don't see how that relates to how Justin Vincent reported at the beginning of last year.

Why, when talking about Justin Vincent of today, would we care about whether he showed up a year ago in shape or out of shape???

I'm not jumping down his throat. All I said was that if he doesn't want to be viewed a certain way, he'd be better off changing that perception by his actions (working harder, etc.) than by arguing with people on a message board.

I'd have no problem with JV if he never accomplishes another thing at LSU. I'd be disappointed though because I think he's a very, very good back.

I'd saying showing up as one of the most in shape players this year is a pretty good way of changing people's perceptions...

Because that was what I was talking about when I suggested that could be why he inexplicably went from being our starter and 1000yd rusher to playing special teams. That was what the original post was about that JV was responding to.

Honestly, I'm not impressed by a comment from a Strength and Conditioning coach. I'll be impressed if I see the JV we saw in 2003 on the field in 2005.

What? You're not impressed by the fact that JV showed up as one of the most in shape playesr this year?

LAst time I checked, the season hasn't started and until it does, we have to rely on things such as this...It's whats the offseason is all about..

Someone made a post about JV and the fact that he goes out too much. No one said anyhting about last year...Everyone has been talking about recent times (i.e. the last five months). So when you say that JV "supposedly showed up out of shape," why would you be talking about something that happened last year before LAST season? I would just give up on this one since I have already provided a quote from the coaches saying he showed up this year as one of the most in shape playesr out there...

That's kind of my point. If he shows up 15 lbs overweight in the fall, who cares what he looked like in spring.

FYI, I love hearing that JV is working hard. I'll feel better when I see the results on Saturdays though.
