Who should be #1? Kansas, who has played the easiest schedule of any contender? What team doesn't make mistakes? Most of our opponents make more mistakes than we do. Penalties are an issue that needs correcting, but LSU has the highest turnover margin in the SEC and #5 in the country. The Tigers have not been winning on luck. They have been winning on skill. Luck comes into the game, but it all evens out with every team getting their fair share.
Some of you people are on crack, Ga might would beat LSU cause anyone can lose on any day. LSU flat out deserves to be #1, wether they remain, who knows. If your going to post please try to be completely ridiculous, we are all a little wacky sometimes, but really. If you don't believe me ask the super computer that put us in a few years ago to win the NC, and the same one that Fla. in last year. Like it or not BCS is pretty accurate.
You know if this wasn't the 'crazy' year of top 5 teams there would be NO discussion about kansas. They're top 5 team by default. Really no different then Hawaii at this point in the season. If they get by their next two opponents then in THIS YEAR'S scenario's they deserve the championship game... but to say they're deserving of a #1 ranking just b/c they're undefeated playing absolutely no one is just crazy talk.
Two interesting comments that tie together because of the SECCG. I think TC's original point was valid. We gave away the Kentucky game, kept Alabama and Auburn around with foolish penalties and mistakes, and failed to put away a 3-7 Ole Miss team until the final 3 minutes. We are banged up and will get very little time to recover before playing a still-dangerous Arkansas team Friday, and then most likely playing red-hot Georgia on their home-away-from-home turf the following week in the SECCG. And there's the rub. I don't have a whole lot of confidence in our beating Georgia, and that would deny us our ultimate goal. So...might we pound someone in January after a month off? Absolutely, but who cares if we're pounding someone in the Capitol One, or even the Sugar Bowl? If we don't get our act together, we may be settling for one of those, when we should be cleaning out a space for another crystal football.
that has got to be one of the most asinine statements i have ever read. i guess that win/loss record means nothing. maybe we should just have a big tally board for "mistakes". the team with the fewest mistakes get to be the nc at the end of the year. we'll just throw that whole w/l thing out the window. :rolleye33:
I've been reading some of your posts, and I just can't believe what I'm reading! This doesn't sound like an LSU Tiger forum, it sounds like a Kansas Forum, or a Florida Forum, etc... Sure some of you make good points as far as LSU and their penalties and such, but LSU is the SEC West and is Ranked number 1 in the country in the BCS. Kansas is overrated. Kansas has played no one ranked. I went to the Mizzou Texas A&M game (with my LSU gear on!)... And Mizzou is over rated. And if you was to put Kansas or Mizzou up against Old MIss, Alabama, Florida or Auburn, they would lose. But this is just one Tiger fan's opinion. I love LSU and LSU is banged up, but to say that LSU is going to lose in the SEC championship, is just wrong. LSU always gets up for the big games. And for that matter if they do lose... so what? they have had a good run this year, and i will still support LSU forever, no matter what the outcome. And some times it sounds to me like no matter how good LSU is, there are some of you out there who will not be satisfied. And that's all I got to say about this.:geaux:
