Sorry to do this, but this is a pet peeve of mine. Al Gore never claimed to create the internet. The "quote" which almost all Republicans will claim they heard was a complete rephrasing of an actual quote that was taken grossly out of context to begin with. It is kinda funny that you bring that up in a thread about political hypocrites and politics.
"And Jindal is a political coward." = Your opinion Edith Bunker Blanco was the worst governor in LA history. = FACT Hating Louisiana Republicans still doesn't erase the fact that Lousiana Democrats are the reason we rank so low in quality of life categories. Keep electing them so we can remain at the bottom of the list. :nope: Speaking of Landrieu...remember a few years ago when she told black women in DC that their kids couldn't afford to go to the same school as her children even if they had vouchers? She really cares about minories, women, and the poor. Just keep voting Democrat. :thumb:
Only a fool would believe that all networks except FOX "NEVER tell the truth" and "manipulate EVERY statistic". What lies are those?
snopes.com: Al Gore Invented the Internet That is his exact quote. Unfortunately what he is wrong is this as well. ARPANET was initially designed in 1967 and the Defense Department commissioned it in 1969. Even the term "data highway" existed before VP Gore was elected to Congress for the first time. No Credit Where It's Due Rep. Gore and then VP Gore had absolutely nothing to do with the design or implementation of the internet as it currently exists.
Did you read the article? Snopes says claims that Al Gore claimed to invent the internet are false. He was clearly not speaking in a technical sense. He was talking about the legislation he sponsored that provided grants for internet researchers. Rep. Gore and then VP Gore had absolutely nothing to do with the design or implementation of the internet as it currently exists.[/QUOTE]
No one believed that Gore thought that. It's just fun to mock him, like his saying the polar ice cap would melt by 2014.
