Big Sam Montgomery clocked a 4.68 forty at 262 lbs

Much better time than I thought he'd post.

The evolution of defensive linemen and DE's is happening quickly. It wasn't long ago that players like Tyson Jackson and Glen Dorsey were DE's coming out of LSU into the NFL. Big 300 pounders. Now they are lean, quick and fast.

Sam had a good time, for his size.

Mingo's 40 was faster than the other two Mingo type athletic DE/OLB projected to go first R:

    4.58 - Mingo
    4.60 - Jordan of Oregon
    4.63 - Ansah of BYU

    Other notable officials:
    4.60 - Lemonier of Auburn
4.60 - Hunt of SMU (white dude from Estonia, he's a stud)

Dorsey was a tackle at LSU and is arguably out of position at DE in the 3-4.

There's no argument to it. He's definitely out of position. The season he ends up on a team with a 4-3 defensive scheme is the season he makes the Pro Bowl.
