Report: Vikings' Mixon Suspended 2 Games By NFL
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - The National Football League has suspended Minnesota Vikings defensive end Kenny Mixon for two games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

The Star Tribune of Minneapolis and the St. Paul Pioneer Press say Mixon is appealing the suspension, adding a decision was expected before the start of the regular season. Both cited sources they didn't name, but described them as close to the situation.

Under terms of the collective bargaining agreement, NFL suspensions are confidential. A league spokesman declined comment.

Mixon was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in November. It was his third such arrest in 16 months.
Mixon had 62 tackles, including five sacks, last season.

This is really disappointing. I know we all want to support our former Tigers, but three DWI/DUI arrests in 16 months is inexcusable. He needs to get some help, pronto, before he kills somebody!
