Re: Kentucky vs. Florida History has shown that it is very difficult to beat a team twice in the same season. LSU versus Kentucky is our ticket in the SECCG. A top ten team that can't beat us again.
Re: Kentucky vs. Florida If Kentucky makes the Championship game they have the ability to beat LSU twice in the same season.:geauxtige
Re: Kentucky vs. Florida Clarification on the entire SOS thing. It's a wash. We played both Kentucky and Florida this season, so from that standpoint it has no bearing on our SOS. Top 10 and Top 25 wins would have more of a significant effect. We want both teams at seasons end to finish in the top 25 in all the computer polls. We would love if both could stay in the top 10. That will be difficult. My scenario. Florida wins, but surprisingly Kentucky makes it go down to the wire. Kentucky doesn't fall too far down (#14 or so). Kentucky doesn't lose again and comes back to the top 10 (with the way this season is going that would probably happen). Florida beats SC in a squeaker. SC doesn't lose any other game as well. SC stays in the top 10 at seasons end. Tennessee, of course, would lose twice more in this scenario (SC, Kentucky). So lets say the standings in the BCS look something like this: 1. Ohio State/Boston College/South Florida (only one of these 3 ran the table) 2. OU/LSU in an extremely close battle for #2 (both with 1 loss) Florida is sitting at #4. Kentucky at #9. SC at #10. We beat Florida, a team at this point in voters eyes that is maybe the 2nd strongest team in the nation behind LSU. LSU beats Florida again, a daunting task to say the least. In voters minds LSU gains all the votes it needs in order to stave off OU for #2. LSU beating a Kentucky team, in which many people probably still don't buy into would not have as profound an effect. That's my impact standpoint. From a easiest route perspective, I would hope SC wins, then possibly Kentucky, then Florida in the East. We match up best vs SC (although you would think it much harder to beat the visor twice in the same season).
Who would you rather play again ... Kentucky or Florida? I think the answer is pretty clear. But it doesn't matter who we root for. Florida has had 2 weeks to think about two consecutive losses. Kentucky coming off one of their biggest wins ever. Florida easily beats Kentucky.
I'd like to see Kentucky win this game. But...... I think that Florida holds their head under water for 60 mins and then tosses a plugged-in toaster just for good measure. Tommorrow will be a sad day for the Wildcats.
Don't care. I am just pulling for LSU to go the rest of the regular season undefeated and then whippin who ever in the SEC CG. :geauxtige :crystal:
Yes I would tend to think Florida would beat Kentucky, esp. after the physical beating up Kentucky got from LSU. Although I don't prefer it, if LSU wins out, they would probably meet Florida in the SECCG. One factor that might be in LSU's favor is that Florida would have played 6 straight games up to that point 9 (although their last two may be cupcakes like Florida Atlantic and Florida St.), whereas LSU, 4.
This Kentucky team would beat the snot out of tOSU. The real nonsense is for Ohio State to step into the #1 slot after having played only one ranked team all season so far, which was #23 at the time. Beating Akron, Kent State and Youngstown State only makes tOSU state champs.:hihi:
