2008: 25.9 ppg, 326.5 ypg 2015: 24.3 ppg, 342.8 ypg Of course we had several pick 6s in 2008, so that defense actually gave up closer to 22 ppg. This defense appears to have no clue on the back end of the defense especially, much like what we saw in 2008.
Fair points. This is Steele's first year to install a new system, with guys that are undersized, so I am willing to give a bit more slack on the Defensive side of the ball than I might otherwise. The two headed monster had both been there for years, and I don't recall them installing a new system when Bo left.
DEs got their asses kicked all night. They couldn't seal the edge to save their lives. DTs made one tackle that I saw. Just pitiful team defense. The offense? The same shit show we've come to expect every week. There isn't a single D-1 coach in the nation that couldn't do better with the abundance of talent we have on offense. It's criminal what Cam\Miles have done this season.
I would normally agree that it is his first year, but this is not like when isl was going after Grimes after a few games. The issue with Steele that is scary is the fact that he lacks any ability to adjust. We don't see any changes within the game. If he was trying to change things up a bit, disguise blitzes, coverages, etc I could see giving him more time.
No he isn't. The OL has been abysmal the last two games. It was comical in a pathetic way tonight watching the series of false starts. I'd fire the lot outside of O and Porter.
It was a bad hire in my opinion as well and I didn't like it, but I like the fact that he wants to go big again. Let's face it Chavis and Brick left the cupboard bare save the defensive backs. Sure there is some individual talent in Godchaux, Key, Beckwitch, and Jones, but outside them, who that plays line or linebacker?
