LSU just needs to play LSU defense... VT may not see another defense as good as LSU's as well. It was the Georgia defense that beat VT in the Peach Bowl. If the LSU defense can keep VT to around 14 points or less, that could very likely be the decisive factor in the game.
At this point, yes. he has not done enough to gain that much national recognition. He will though. Best RB at LSU since Faulk.
