31-3 and Tech was on B-state 7 about to score. There was an obvious pass interference that was ignored and the announcers were covering. The WR ran to the 3 and ran a post. He was jammed at the goal line while the ball was in the air and knocked down. The announcers were saying, well he was way off the mark and won't get the call. No chit, if you get jammed while the ball is in the air, the pass will be off the mark because the WR was put on the ground.
thats why that uncatchable/non-pass interference call is one of the worst in college and pro football. they have no clue if a wr could catch it if they knock them down 5 yards into the route. 38-3 smurfs.
Something similar happened against Miss State didn't it? One of our receivers was knocked onto the ground during the pass and it flew about 10 yards over where he was on the ground.
yeah, it was a fade route along the East sideline. dude got took out 3 yards into it, and ball just sailed over his crumbled body
I've wondered the same thing for years. Seems like an unfair advantage somehow. Besides, it's just PLAIN UGLY! OTOH, until a couple of years ago, it was their ONLY claim to fame.
Yes, Ian Johnson is definitely in the category of guys who've been around forever. Massaquoi for UGA seems the same way.
I don't recall that happening. Was is discussed here? If so, I can't believe I missed it. One of them is an incoming Boise St. freshman. :hihi:
